Old town Cannes

I started the day quite sleepy because I think everyone at home forgot about the time change last night and both my parents and Doug called me at 4am and 5:30am hahaha! When my mom called me again at 8:30am I was so sleepy I barely remember what we talked about.

When making breakfast I accidentally knocked our french press off the ledge in our kitchen so it shattered all over the staircase. If you have been to the house or watched the treehouse video post then you might know what I mean but plates and kitchen ware falling down the stairs is a somewhat common occurrence in this house. Because I had to clean up the glass I was late leaving the house and had to hustle to catch the train to meet Sarah for our day trip to Cannes.

We went up to explore the old town, It is very pretty and quiet in comparison to the hustle of the streets below. Sarah and I got lucky and were able to checkout the museum before it closed for lunch. It has free entrance for students and an amazing old tower which gives the best possible view of the city.

After the museum visit we walk around and peeked in on Sunday mass at the old church. Their choir sang beautifully and the songs echoed out to the old town.

When I got home Emma and I watched “Serenity” a new movie with Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway. It got TERRIBLE reviews but I really enjoyed it. It was super strange and the plot was a bit ridiculous but I was really into it the whole time. Next we started Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows Pt 1. Emma is a mega fan and had to explain most of the plot to me because I haven’t read the books or seen most of the movies. Harry Potter scared me as a kid when it came out and I wasn’t really into Wizards so I kind of avoided it as much as I could. Watching it now I still don’t love the movies dark atmosphere but I know I should give the movies a chance.
