Tourists in our own town
Today Sarah and I met up to be tourists in Antibes for the day. We window shopped and checked out the outdoor markets for a while then visited one of Antibes biggest tourist attractions, the Picasso museum.
It is a beautiful building and has a large collection of Picasso pieces. The coolest thing is that many of the pieces displayed were created there! Yes, Picasso was allowed to use part of the building as a workshop for a period of time! Here are some details —>
After the museum we sat and enjoyed our asian takeout lunch at the beach. Such a lovely sunny day. The marina had a crazy new visitor…. a 432 million euro yacht….HOLY SMOKES it was HUUUGGE! It is owned by a Russian oligarch at rumour has it, this is one of the world’s most expensive/largest yachts. We were pretty blown away by its size but thought it was a little too opulent and sort of ugly for the price tag. It didn’t even have a very exciting outer deck which I think is key.
We finished up the day with ice cream and a trip to the grocery store. Strawberries were on sale and I got this entire flat for 4 euros! What a treat, I cannot wait for spring and summer produce!
