First day of school
Today was our orientation day at SKEMA! It was a crazy long bus ride this morning so we are hoping traffic isn’t always like that but the busses are beautiful here…THEY HAVE FREE WIFI!!!… and skylights!
We did all the classic orientation day stuff such as the campus tour and welcome ceremony. The building seems like it was built a while ago with remodelled interiors. SKEMA was created in 2010 when two French business schools combined into one, and there are campuses in Paris, China, USA and Brazil.
Its funny, in Canada student organizations generally struggle with participation. A lot of the time they are sort of seen as uncool or lame. But here student associations are incredibly popular. They have their own building with open concept space and huge groups of students hanging out, listening to music and doing activities related to their perspective clubs. It seemed like the best place to hang out and get involved in student life.
At night Kristina and I tried dusk/ night running. We felt pretty safe along the ocean in Antibes but both wouldn’t want to run alone at night.
