Princess on a plane
This morning I walked myself to the train station and took the express airport shuttle to catch my flight. Nothing to eventful, I arrived at the airport way earlier than I needed to but better safe than sorry. I just sat there and watched youtube videos until my flight time. My first flight was delayed by about half an hour… No big deal right?
Wrong.
Boarding for my connecting flight was 30 min after I was supposed to land so as we are still in the air the captain was making announcements about how we were going to have to hurry and he gave us our gates to head to.
I’m sitting there getting increasingly stressed because it is already past our boarding time and we are just starting the decent. There is nothing I can do so I was just chilling and hoping that I can run to my gate in time.
As we land the captain makes an announcement that if we are going to Nice we should meet the staff as we walk off the plane. So I hurry down the steps and find out I AM THE ONLY ONE GOING TO NICE HAHAHA! So they had a car waiting there just for me!!!
They drove me directly to my next plane, walked me up the steps and KNOCKED on the side of the plane to let me in. Haha what a time! I have never heard of that happening before but it was wonderful. I felt like such a princess. And I got there just the plane was starting to board so there was basically no one on except for first class at that point.
But wait… Thats not all…
The little cherry on top of this whole experience was that my row ended up just being me and a business man, so we got a space between us to stretch out. 10/10 I would fly Austrian Air again.
The business man, from South Africa, was talking to me about the AI industry and about how he used to be a banker/ stock broker but he thinks that everything he did before working in AI feels like a waste of time now that he knows about the future of the AI industry. He works for a company that uses algorithms to evaluate AI finance companies and prepares analysis for investors to decipher which are strong investments and which are full of sh*t. AI is somewhat a mystery to many so it can be really hard to know what you are investing in. Pretty interesting stuff!
