Île Saint-Honorat (Island off Cannes)

Today Emilia, Sara, Elsa, Elsa’s friend Hanna and I went on the train for a day trip to Cannes. While we were there we took a boat to Île Saint-Honorat and island inhabited by 25 wine making monks. There are two island off Cannes, Île Saint-Honorat is the smaller of the two but apparently the most beautiful. The ferry comes every two hours which gave us the perfect amount of time to walk the full perimeter of the island and stop to explore the Monastery on its coast. We did not expect to see such a large and beautiful building there and were even more amazed that you are allowed to go inside it and climb to its roof!

We went at the perfect time because apparently the islands become packed in the summer with yachts anchoring in the channel between them. I could imagine it is quite the party in the summer! I would love to see that and get the change to swim in the crystal blue water so I might just have to come back once it gets warm.

I highly recommend visiting! Here is a link to some of this islands history.
