Run!

We were up until like 3am last night figuring out travel plans so when 6:15am rolled around neither Kristina nor I heard our alarms. We woke up at 6:45 in a panic to get to the train station for our 7:36 train to Nice. After running around the house to get ready, we had no time to call a Uber, so our only feasible option was to run. So we booked it bags and all for a 15 min walk according to google maps which we basically stress ran. It felt like cross country all over again but instead of a ribbon we would get a trip to Italy on time.

Spoiler alert…We made it!

One train a bus ride later we arrive in Genoa (Genova) Italy. Fun facts: Genova is the birthplace of pesto, the lottery, denim and Christopher Columbus (who started his voyage to America here) but to my surprise is is not the birthplace of Genoa salami. I mean salami in general was created in northern Italy but it was so long ago no one really knows where. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS…

We spent the whole day walking around and racked up 17km!

For dinner we went to an authentic Italian family restaurant. Everyone got pizza and I had a plate of meat… HAHA Being gluten free can be very tricky, especially with language barriers but there was an image next to the meat plate so it seemed like a safe bet.
