Dropped off at camp

Today is the girls travel day back home! This felt way too quick but packed with awesome experiences. I am going to miss having them with me. Okay so overview of the day:

  • Packed up - everything is damp, I am so excited for aircon to try my stuff out

  • I drove to the Mini Super for some orange juice and snacks because the travel stomach has finally hit me, no bueno, I am down bad in the toilet department

  • We went back to Simu for a last breakfast because the food was so good last night, I got a gluten free brownie because the idea of eggs right now made my stomach gurgle harder than it already is

  • Said bye to Matt and Abby :(

  • I drove us to Manuel Antonio, I will miss driving here, its a tad sketchy but the roads are fun and scenic

  • At the Selina the girls helped me bring my bags in and we said our goodbyes, it felt shockingly similar to how I imagine being dropped off at summer camp feels like, I am a little nervous, excited to try solo travel, not sure what to do first, etc

  • Check in is not until 3pm but its only 12:30 so I put my backs in their storage and posted up in the restaurant with my laptop after taking a tour around the hostel, this Selina is the largest in Costa Rica and has 3 pools!

  • Once it was check in time, I showered, chilled a bit then got ready for welcome drinks

  • Welcome drinks were fun, I met 2 girls from Quebec who were actually at the La Fortuna at the same time as us, and a guy who works for the CFL from Halifax

  • After I took myself to dinner at a cafe close by that I found online has a lot of Gluten free options. I asked the girls at the welcome drinks if they ate already but they are going to cook dinner since they already got groceries

  • I thought I better also get some groceries for my work day tomorrow so I went on the way home from dinner and got some basics for the week and snacks
